Creamy Garlic Shrimp Noodles | Creamy Shrimp Pasta
Serving: 2
Ingredients
Spaghetti 200g
Deveined shrimp 1/2 lb
Diced onion 1/3 cup
Minced garlic 1 tbsp (6 cloves)
Olive oil ~2 tbsp
Butter 1.5 tbsp
Spice blend 1/2 tsp
Substitute: paprika or cajun seasoning
Chicken powder 1 tsp or (1/4 tsp salt)
Ground pepper 1/4 tsp
White or rice wine 1/3 cup
Heavy cream 1/2 cup
Grated parmesan cheese 1/3 cup
Garnish:
Parsley
Grated parmesan cheese
Directions:
Prepare and measure out all ingredients listed above.
Add salt and olive oil into a large pot of water as it’s heating up. Once water is boiling, add your choice of pasta and cook to aldente according to package instruction.
While waiting, add olive oil into a heated pan. Add shrimp and fry both sides until the color turns pink.
Remove shrimp from the pan then add diced onion and sauté until lightly browned. Add minced garlic, then spice blends, chicken powder and ground pepper. Continue to sauté until it’s fragrant and pour in white wine. Simmer to evaporate most of the liquid then add heavy cream.
Bring it back to a simmer and toss in pasta with a scoop of pasta water and shrimp. Stir to mix for about 30 seconds until sauce slightly thickens.
Turn off the heat and fold in grated Parmesan cheese. It’s ready once all the cheese is melted and pasta is coated evenly with the sauce.
Garnish with extra Parmesan and fresh parsley on top.
*** Make sure to transfer the pasta directly to the sauce pan after it’s cooked. Not draining and rinsing the pasta will help the pasta absorb the sauce better once in the pan.
